The Parlor Floor is reserved for formal entertaining, with a dining room and serving buffet that overlook the kitchen and family room below. A built-in banquet at the less formal Garden Floor dining nook allows plenty of space for a desk area and Saarinen table. On the top floor, a small bar serves both a media room and an expansive roof deck, which boasts a fireplace as well as open views of Lower New York Harbor.
This house incorporates the owners’ love of entertaining while providing space for the entire family on a day-to-day basis. With plans to live in this space for the next 10 years, the design had to marry the developing needs of a growing family with the unique features of Brooklyn’s row house architecture.
