BROWNSTONER’S REVIEW OF STEEL WINDOWS

BROWNSTONER’S REVIEW OF STEEL WINDOWS

03/07/2018

Brownstoner recently featured several CWB row house projects that use new, thermally broken, steel window and door systems as a key feature of their design. Principal and row house expert, Brendan Coburn, was interviewed to get his take: “[The slender steel profile] matches handsomely with the weight and mass of brick...To have this light, delicate steel structure — the juxtaposition is very satisfying.” To read more about what Brendan and other local architects have to say about the durability and visual appeal of steel for their projects, click here. Contact us at design@cwbarchitects.com to discuss your renovation project.

BOERUM HILL PROJECT FEATURED IN THE NEW YORK TIMES

BOERUM HILL PROJECT FEATURED IN THE NEW YORK TIMES

02/19/2018

Our recently completed Boerum Hill townhouse was featured in the New York Times last week. Originally built in the 1890s, the structure was crumbling and in need of a complete overhaul. What ensued was a full gut renovation of the three-story structure and the addition of a top floor master suite for the clients and their two children. Principal Brendan Coburn worked with the clients to make sure the final design was their dream home, a collaborative effort that involved the contractor recreating some of the home’s original details as well as the incorporation of details from the client’s previous home. The client also joined forces with interior decorator Katherine Hammond for the interiors. To read the full article, click here.
