Hudson Hideaway
An entrepreneurial couple with their own advertising business envisioned a hideaway across the Hudson River in suburban New Jersey far from the bustle of Manhattan. Classic lines and a stucco exterior enclose a glamorous interior, reminiscent of the 1930s in warm beiges and silvery grays, that showcases an extensive Latin-American art collection and features dramatic architectural elements such as a circular stair and a pyramidal vaulted ceiling. A densely planted and sloping site was transformed into a bucolic idyll with ample outdoor spaces that are distinctly Mediterranean in feel.
